This page features a very small fraction of the many hundreds of covers and posters that Ken Barr has produced over many years for some of the leading publishers in the world.  Ken has worked for leading comic, magazine and book publishers over the years such as Marvel , DC, Warren, Avon and Random House publishers.  Many of these publishers have commissioned Ken to work on images for many  of  their leading characters.

As well as comics, magazines and book covers, the artwork of Ken Barr has also featured on other graphic media such as film posters, collectors' plates, trading cards, T-Shirts and other media..  Ken Barr is one of the few "outside artists"  to be commissioned by Lucasfilm to draw and paint a "Star Wars" poster.

COMMANDO COMICS

Ken Barr is well known in the U. K. for his long association with Commando comics published by D.C. Thomson.

Ken  has produced for this long running series many covers as well as interior artwork.  

It was Ken Barr who created many of the now iconic early covers for this comic, and part of this iconic cover design was the decision to wrap the front cover art around the spine of the comic and onto the back cover.  

Over 4,000 issues later Commando comics still use this classic design innovation.

When Ken Barr started working in the U.S.A. in the 1960s, some of his earliest published artwork was for interior comic strip art for the  long running DC war comics line.  As well as interior art, Ken also produced covers for DC comics.

FLEETWAY U.S.A. REPRINT COVERS
